How to Repair PST File (Microsoft Office Outlook) | PST Repair For Errors | Scan PST | Repair PST File For MS Office Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016

Some times when computer power off unexpectedly after that you start your computer and open outlook. It asks for PST file repair.

Actually it happens when some files working in your computer memory and they turned off without any manual command. At that time pst file closed with some errors and again when we try to open it it asks for a repair.

If your outlook asks for pst repair it doesn't mean that you have lost your data or something else. Its just an indication that your pst files has some errors due to unexpectedly power off or the other reasons computer power off unexpectedly.

I will tell you that how you can repair your pst file. Its very easy and can take some time if you have lots of emails in pst file or in case of heavy pst file.

Follow below process to repair you pst file.

1. You need to find the location of your pst file first for repairing it. You can find the location as below.

a. Go to your computer "Control Panel"

b. Then select "Small Icons" from the right upper corner and click on "mail"

c.   click on "data file" and here is a path of your pst file.

d.  You will find your pst file on this location.

Note- You can have multiple pst files on this location and if you want you can open all and repair them one by one.

Now you have your pst file location with you follow below process now to repair your pst file.

2. There is a Microsoft tool for repairing your pst file i.e scanpst.exe

3. You can find this "scanpst.exe file on below path in all the versions.

Outlook 2016: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16

Outlook 2013: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15

Outlook 2010: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14


Outlook 2007: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12

If you are not able to find "scanpst.exe file in the given path then you can download below microsoft software to find the "scanpst file" and run.

MicrosoftEasyFix20101.mini.diagcab 

Run this software and it will take you to directly to "scanpst.exe file" and it will automatically open it.

So now you have the scanpst.exe with you.

4. Double click on scanpst.exe to open it and browse your pst path location.

5. Click on "start".

6. After completing some of its steps it will ask for repair then click on "Repair".

And you are done with repairing your pst file.
